Abstract

New measurements of shell growth of the marine pulmonate limpet Siphonaria compressa are reported, which extend the earlier studies of Allanson and Msizi [Allanson BR, Msizi SC. 2010. Reproduction and growth of the endangered siphonariid limpet Siphonaria compressa (Pulmonata: Basommatophora). Invertebrate Reproduction and Development 54:151–161] on the species in the Knysna estuary, South Africa. It is confirmed that growth is modelled by the von Bertalanffy growth function. Maturity is rapid and generation time short.
