Abstract
Christina Sterbenz edits coverage of extremism, such as terrorism, white supremacy, and hate groups, at VICE News. Stories that she worked on were recently cited by the New Zealand government in its decision to designate the Proud Boys as a terrorist entity, and another piece she edited, “The Return of the Machine Gun,” was named a finalist for the Online Journalism Awards’ Excellence in Collaboration for 2022. Sterbenz has also covered the trials of Aaron Hernandez, the NFL player convicted of murder; George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch coordinator who killed Trayvon Martin; and Derek Chauvin, the police officer found guilty of murdering George Floyd.
