From May 1, 2016 until September 3, 2017, 234 individual scholars offered 562 sets of peer review comments for manuscripts submitted for publication consideration—this time span marks the complete set of manuscripts published in Volume 34, as well as manuscripts for the first issue of Volume 35.
In that time, 223 original manuscripts were submitted to the journal. In no small part due to our reviewers’ commitment and diligence, those manuscripts received an initial editorial decision in 32.23 days—just over 100 of those (n = 104) received a decision in under 30 days, and only 18 took longer than 60 days (the longest delay was 86 days from submission to initial decision). Just under 60% of those were rejected on first review (n = 130). For those papers invited for revision, 169 revisions were also considered (this number includes multiple revisions to the same manuscript), and those were processed in an average of 22.64 days. The majority of those papers (n = 122, or 72%) were processed within 30 days, and only two took longer than 60 days.
Filtering by papers with a final decision disposition during that time period (n = 190, which collapses manuscripts with multiple submissions), the overall rejection rate for CRR stands at 74.2% (n = 142).
