Shlomo Shpiro

Dr. Shlomo Shpiro is Deputy Head of the Political Studies Department at Bar-Ilan University in Israel and Chairman of the International Intelligence History Association (IIHA). Formerly Director of the Israeli Government Ministries Security Unit, he was later appointed Research Coordinator at the Israeli Parliament (Knesset). In the years 1999–2001, he led a NATO research project on improving intelligence cooperation between NATO and Mediterranean countries. He has published extensively on intelligence and terrorism, and recently coedited the Handbook of Global Security and Intelligence series published by Greenwood/Praeger, 2008.
