Alphonso Lingis

Alphonso Lingis is a professor emeritus of philosophy at Penn State University and the author of numerous books, including Excesses, Libido, Abuses, The Imperative, Dangerous Emotions, Trust, Body Transformations, The First Person Singular, Contact, and, most recently, Violence and Splendor. He is also the preeminent English translator of Maurice Merleau-Ponty (The Visible and the Invisible) and Emmanuel Levinas (Totality and Infinity).
