Evaluating and Training Substance Abuse Counselors: A Pilot Study Assessing Standardized Patients as Authentic Clients

In the article “Evaluating and Training Substance Abuse Counselors: A Pilot Study Assessing Standardized Patients as Authentic Clients” by Holly E. Fussell, Colleen S. Lewy, and Bentson H. McFarland, published in Substance Abuse, 30(1), 47–60, the excerpt that follows includes incorrect text for the Likert-type directional anchors.

Excerpt from page 55, paragraph three, line 19:

“How helpful to you as a professional was the overall process of interviewing the SP, filling out pre and post interview questionnaires, and communicating with the researchers” on a Likert-type scale ranging from 1 = very unhelpful to 5 = very helpful (M = 1.71, SD = .74).

Corrected version:

“How helpful to you as a professional was the overall process of interviewing the SP, filling out pre and post interview questionnaires, and communicating with the researchers” on a Likert-type scale ranging from 1 = very helpful to 5 = very unhelpful (M = 1.71, SD = .74).
