Abstract
Utilizing non-participatory observation data, this article examines the social dynamics of same-sex impersonal/anonymous encounters in an erotic oasis. Focusing on an adult theater, this research analyzes patron interaction to assess both verbal and non-verbal communication practices among oasis participants who are actively seeking partnered sexual activities. Concurrently, those interactions were also examined to ascertain any correlating factors between specific communication practices and the specific types of sexual activities that transpired. The emerging data offers a unique glimpse into a rarely studied environment, and adds to the literature on erotic oasis interaction patterns, impersonal sex, and sexual communication strategies.
