María José Navia

María José Navia (Chile, 1982) has published two novels, SANT (2010) and Kintsugi (2018); and two books of short stories, Instrucciones para ser feliz (2015; How to Be Happy), and Lugar (Santiago de Chile: Ediciones de la Lumbre, 2017; Place), from which the following story is taken. She is currently an assistant professor of literature at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and writes reviews and columns for Artes y Letras (El Mercurio) as well as for her blog (www.ticketdecambio.wordpress.com).
