José Mármol

José Mármol (1960) lives in Santo Domingo. Among his many career awards, he has won the Dominican Republic’s 2013 National Prize for Literature, and the 2012 Casa de América Prize for Spanish American Poetry (Spain). A prolific author, his books include La invención del día (1989; The Invention of the Day), Lengua de paraíso (1992; The Tongue of Paradise), Lenguaje del mar (2012; The Language of the Sea), and Sketch of Flight (2022), where these translations first appeared.
