ABSTRACT
Valgus cantalensis sp. nov., second fossil species of the scarabaeid subfamily Valginae, is described from the Upper Miocene Konservat-Laggerstätte of Sainte-Reine (France). The fossil is compared to the extant valgine genera and Valgus spp., showing it is a new species. But its exact affinities in the genus Valgus remain undetermined because of the lacking of a recent morphological phylogenetic analysis of the Valgus spp.
