ABSTRACT

This paper presents the experimental analysis of partially condensed refrigerant R-32 in an adiabatic straight capillary tube. The capillary test section is tested for variation of the mass flow rate for different inlet conditions. The capillary tube test section is selected for a diameter of 1.12 mm, 1.27 mm, and 1.52 mm, and for length 1000 mm, 1500 mm, and 2000 mm. The capillary inlet pressures are 15.85 bar, 16.55 bar, and 17.24 bar. All the data is taken for the steady-state and choked flow conditions. The Buckingham π theorem is applied to find out the correlation for the mass flow rate for nondimensional analyses.
