1. With the 2015 Millennium Development Goal (MDG) deadline fast approaching, the UN Secretary-General has outlined the UN-led process to determine the post-2015 development framework. The UN system is conducting global thematic e-consultations throughout late 2012/early 2013, one of which is on governance. The thematic consultation on governance in particular is a response to an increasing demand from various actors over the past few years, especially civil society, to discuss governance and accountability bottlenecks in the context of MDGs, and how these gaps could be addressed in a new global development framework.
