Circular RNA circ_0003420 mediates inflammation in sepsis-induced liver damage by downregulating neuronal PAS domain protein 4

Article title: Circular RNA circ_0003420 mediates inflammation in sepsis-induced liver damage by downregulating neuronal PAS domain protein 4

Authors: Huawei Xiong, Hao Wang and Qichun Yu

Journal: Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology

Citation details: Volume 43, Number 3, pages 271–282

DOI: 10.1080/08923973.2021.1887212

When the above article was first published online, the following sentence in the materials and methods was written incorrectly: “Seventeen samples of hepatic tissue from sepsis patients and nine samples of healthy hepatic tissue were collected for the measurement of circ_0003420 and NPAS4 mRNA expression levels by reverse-transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR)”.

The corrected sentence should be as follows: “Seventeen samples of hepatic tissue from patients with sepsis complicated with liver abscess and nine samples of healthy hepatic tissue were collected for the measurement of circ_0003420 and NPAS4 mRNA expression levels by reverse-transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). For patients with liver space-occupying lesions who have been excluded from liver cirrhosis during preoperative preparation, about 1 mm liver tissue beside the surgical specimen (negative margins were confirmed by pathological examination) is taken as the healthy liver tissue specimen during hepatectomy”. Moreover, the text “patients with sepsis” have been corrected to “patients with sepsis complicated with liver abscess” all throughout the article.

The online version has been corrected.
