Developing a Pedagogy for Globalization: A Marketing and Political Science Multi-Disciplinary and Transnational Approach

&
Pages 277-290 | Published online: 11 Apr 2013

Abstract

One of the greatest challenges facing social science and marketing programs in the start of the 21st century is how to “globalize” our curriculums, so that our tech-savvy, but often internationally and cross-culturally inexperienced students have, understand, and are prepared to embrace the diverse opportunities that will be an increasing part of their futures. This article presents the work of two professors from Marketing and Political Science disciplines, who developed a cross-disciplinary course addressing lessons of macro and micro political economy and marketing strategies, in an in-classroom setting, with an optional international experience.

Notes

1The seminar was organized by Witness for Peace based in Managua, over the week-long spring break in March 2009. It was called “Crisis in your Coffee Cup.”
