Supplementation of lysolecithin in combination with a multi-non-starch polysaccharides enzyme improves the feed efficiency during the post-weaning period in piglets

Abstract

The present study investigated the modification of feed formulations by replacing cereals with fat and supplementation with lysolecithin and/or multi-non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs) enzyme upon performance. The study implemented 480 weaned piglets starting at 8.1 kg and finishing at 27.6 kg. Piglets were assigned to four treatments (control, control supplemented with fat at 7.0 g/kg, control supplemented with lysolecithin at 0.5 g/kg, with lysolecithin and a multi-NSP enzyme at 0.5 g/kg each). The study was divided in first phase 1–15 days and second phase 16–40 days. Feed conversion was significantly improved in the group supplemented with lysolecithin and multi-enzyme compared to control during the second phase of the experiment (P < 0.05), while the rest performance parameters did not differ significantly between treatments.
