Besides the scientific program, the 12th FBPS symposium gave the opportunity to observe Korean culture, with a traditional music performance during the social dinner. A visit to the DMZ (Military Demarcation Zone) at the boarder with North Korea was also organized.

I wish to thank all the participants, the members of the scientific and local organizing committee, the FBPS committee members (Claudio Migliaresi, Teruo Okano, Daniel Cohn, Ray Ottenbrite, Rui Reis, Julio San Roman) for the opportunity to organize this symposium in Seoul. We are especially pleased to dedicate the FBPS2017 to Professors Allan Hoffman and Ray Ottenbrite.

The next FBPS conference will be held in the Canary Islands, and will be chaired by Professor Julio San Roman.
