Abstract
We report a photo-plasma-switched metal antenna with radiation power 3–4 orders of magnitude higher than that from a direct laser-excited antenna without the switch. With no concern on laser damage of the photo-plasma switch, this antenna is promising for generating MW–GW-pulsed radiation in the microwave and perhaps millimeter-wave regime.
