Abstract

The key factor influencing the efficiency of the full-wave multilevel Green’s function interpolation method (MLGFIM) lies in employing an appropriate interpolation scheme to efficiently approximate the Green’s function. A new interpolation grid pattern named boundary clustered staggered Tartan grid (BCSTG) is proposed to improve the Green’s function interpolation. By adopting BCSTG, the required number of interpolation points is greatly reduced and consequently, the efficiency of the MLGFIM is enhanced significantly. The examples of an array of dielectric spheres as well as an electric dipole and ring system have been calculated by the proposed algorithm and compared with previously reported results. The comparison results validate the algorithm and show the computational efficiencies have been enhanced by 30 and 50% for these two examples, respectively.
