Abstract
This paper presents a new technique to reduce radar cross-section (RCS) of dual-band antennas. In order to show that the proposed method can be applied in various types of monopole antennas, two different patch antennas are designed one of which is fabricated. The primary model of the fabricated antenna without modification is composed of a circular radiator with two pairs of T-shaped strips. To reduce the RCS of the antenna, a half of its radiator that is not connected to the feed line is removed with its substrate. A perfect electric conductor (PEC) wall is designed and located in front of the remained half patch to generate an image of it. The results indicate that the proposed structure offers an omni-directional radiation pattern over a wide frequency range and a very wide impedance bandwidth with a WLAN band rejection as well as an in-band and out-of-band RCS reduction.
