Abstract
This study is concerned with the solution of the fundamental problems of increasing the strength and service properties of the materials of components subjected to high wear rates. Hardening is achieved by the directional modification effect of the dispersed refractory compounds on the surfacing process, the structure, physical–mechanical, and service properties of coatings of metals and alloys. The results presented are of the analysis of the modifying effect of the additions of dispersed refractory compounds produced by different methods and introduced into the melt, on the process of solidification, the structure, and physical–mechanical properties of coatings.
