Abstract
Theoretical and practical fundamentals of producing weldable titanium alloys with high and superhigh strength by the application of advanced methods of increasing the structural strength, multicomponent alloying, modification, hardening heat treatment, cold deformation, thermomechanical treatment, cladding and formation of thick areas in the weld zone in machining are described. The effect of modifying additions of zirconium and rhenium on the structure and mechanical properties of the welded joints in VT14, VT15 and VT16 alloys is investigated.
