Abstract

The results of investigations of the special features of the formation of the structure and phase composition of R6M5 steel–(WC+TiC) composite coatings in relation to the content of tungsten monocarbide in the initial charge are presented. It is shown that the amount of retained austenite in the composite coating depends on the tungsten carbide content in the total volume of the added hardening phase. The maximum amount of austenite (75%) in relation to the total volume of the matrix was observed in the coatings containing 20% of the carbide component.
