Effect of titanium and tungsten carbide on the formation of the structure and properties of composite coatings. Part 2: Structural and phase composition of R6M5 steel – TiC coatings

Pages 217-221 | Published online: 25 Jul 2013

Abstract

The results of investigation of the special features of the formation of the structural and phase composition of R6M5 steel – TiC composite coatings in relation to the content of titanium carbide are presented. It is shown that the amount of retained austenite in the hardened layer does not exceed 5% of the total volume of the matrix already after adding 5% titanium carbide. The mean size and the volume fraction of the titanium carbide particles decreased in analysis of the structure from top to the bottom of the deposit.
