Abstract
The universal functions of the SH class are used for developing a new universal method of the formation of smooth transient processes in the drives of electric welding equipment with matching of the conditions (start, acceleration, braking, reversal, constancy and arrest). The efficiency of the method is confirmed by the results of mathematical modelling carried out for a direct current drive regardless of excitation in the problem of controlling the feed rate in automatic and semi-automatic arc welding equipment.
