Abstract
The article presents an analytical assessment of specific defects in electron-beam welding of titanium alloys; the defects distribution locations in areas of the welding joint are established. It was found by analysis that the formation of specific defects (dark streaks, pore chains) and their locations are influenced by EBL modes (welding speed, amperage) and technological operations of preparing edges for welding (presence of capillary-condensed moisture). Other defects (faulty fusion and incomplete fusion) are affected by the EBL modes, the error in the adjustment of the electron beam, the insufficient heat input and the penetrating power of the beam.
