Pages 317-328 | Published online: 22 Oct 2010

Abstract

In this collaborative piece the three authors will attempt to illuminate the field of counselling psychology in the United Kingdom by describing three areas of work. Alan Frankland opens by saying something about the routes to qualified practice in counselling psychology in the UK. He specifically describes the “independent” route to qualification, which he manages on behalf of the Board. Malcolm Cross reviews training issues. Yvonne Walsh examines the areas of work in which counselling psychologists are currently employed, drawing particularly on her experience within a large National Health Trust.
