Abstract

Extant literature has reported the many benefits of group technology (GT) as they are applied in various manufacturing operations. However, little has been examined regarding the application of GT in metal forging operations. This paper presents the implementation of GT in the forging operation of the Tabriz Tractor Manufacturing Company. We also present the coding system and the computer software developed to facilitate the grouping process.
