The following corrections apply to the above paper:

  • 1. The following reference is missing from the original published article:

Yassine, A., Whitney, D., Zambito, T., ‘Assessment of Rework Probabilities for Design Structure Matrix (DSM) Simulation in Product Development Management’, Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology (DTM 2001), September 9–12, 2001 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

  • 2. Another reference that was used in the original published paper, but did not appear in all the correct and proper places is:

Zambito, Tony, ‘Using the Design Structure Matrix to Structure Automotive Hood System Development’, MIT SDM Masters Thesis, January 2000.

  • 3. Both of the above references should be cited on page 546 (third paragraph from the end of section 1 and at the end of the first sentence) as follows:

“In this paper, we propose a methodology that allows practical estimation and assessment of rework probabilities (Yassine et al. 1999, Zambito 2000, Yassine et al. 2001).”

Also, the citation of both above references is missing on page 550 (first paragraph of Section 3 and at the end of the last sentence) and must be corrected as follows:

“We propose a three-stage procedure (Zambito 2000, Yassine et al. 2001):”

  • 4. An Acknowledgements section, after the conclusion of the paper on page 560, is missing. This section should read as follows:

Acknowledgements

This paper is an outgrowth of Mr. Anthony Zambito's MS thesis work, which was conducted under this author's direct supervision at MIT during 1999/2000. The paper also benefited from various discussions with the second thesis co-supervisor, Dr. Daniel Whitney.
