Values and evidence in evaluating community health projects

Abstract

Angela Everitt is a member of the Social Welfare Research Unit at the University of Northumbria. The unit undertakes research and evaluations with organisations, voluntary projects and community groups committed to social welfare, justice and equality. This article explores ways in which evaluation may be developed as critical and thus compatible with participatory approaches to management and policy development in organisations designed to enhance equality between workers and users.
