Abstract
This paper summarizes the results of eight series of radiofrequency field intensity measurements carried out by CETESB in the urban area of São Paulo City. The main objective in conducting these measurements was to obtain some information about the field intensities which can be produced by VHF broadcast antennas and the associated level of public exposure to such radiations. The power densities derived from electric field intensity measurements varied from 1 W.cm‐2 on ground level, to 336 μW.cm‐2 at a building roof under FM and TV transmission tower.
