This article refers to:
Effect of combined consumption of Lactobacillus brevis KB290 and β-carotene on minor diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome-like symptoms in healthy subjects: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group trial

Fuke, N., Aizawa, K., Suganuma, H., Takagi, T., Naito, Y. (2017). Effect of combined consumption of Lactobacillus brevis KB290 and β-carotene on minor diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome-like symptoms in healthy subjects: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group trial. International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition. http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/09637486.2017.1311843.

When the article was first published online, we described the effective dose of Lactobacillus brevis KB290 as 10 billion “colony forming unit” (CFU)/day, it was revealed that the test capsule contained 25.7 billion “bacterial cells”. As described in the “discussion” of the article, bacterial cell components are suggested as active ingredients of KB290.

This has now been corrected in both the print and online versions.
