Notes
1 See http://www.socialsciencespace.com/2014/01/roberto-mangabeira-unger-what-is-wrong-with-the-social-sciences-today/ for one such argument.
2 I should note that the narrower interpretations of capitals, in the sense of types of natural capital, has a much longer history and I have long been a fan of Kerry Turner's work in this respect. Extending the notion of ‘capital’ to social, intellectual and the like is, I believe, of more recent vintage and a rare example of where I depart from my more usual admiration of Paul Ekins’ excellent work.
