MULTICRITERION DECISION MAKING: A BRIEF OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT

The present paper discusses basic concepts of Multicriterion Decision Making (MCDM), Structural Decision Making, role of various components such as single objective optimization, weights, Multiobjective optimization, discrete MCDM methods both in deterministic and fuzzy environment. Advanced aspects such as Data Envelopment Analysis, Web based Decision Making and Geographical Information Systems are also explored with reference to Multicriterion Decision Making. Further directions of the work are also presented.
