ABSTRACT
This paper presents the results of the flow rate characteristics study of the new design liquid flow valve. Data were obtained using finite volume numerical simulation in the OpenFOAM package of the spatial flow of liquid in the flow part of the valve. A simplified quasi-static approach was used, which allowed obtaining results at low-cost computing resources. One of the purposes was to show the reason for the difference in the flow-drop characteristic obtained experimentally and from the previously calculated one-dimensional mathematical model. It was found that the coefficient of hydrodynamic force, got in the OpenFOAM package, is greater than is accepted in the one-dimensional model.
