Abstract

Companies are continuously faced with fluctuating demand in planning their aggregate production. In an effort to achieve their objectives, variations in demand and sales are absorbed by adjusting production rates, workforce and inventory levels through different strategies. This paper provides an analysis of the assumptions made in previous approaches and a comparison of linear and goal programming models.
