Analysis of error for anchor-based localization in wireless sensor networks

Abstract

Analysis of errors in computing locations of nodes in a wireless sensor network (WSN) is an important task. In this paper, we analyse the error of localization of sensors in a WSN. We analyse the effect of errors introduced in the location of sensors and the measurement of their distances to anchors. During our analysis, we focus on the error and normalized error. We analyse how the error and normalized error vary with errors in locations and transmission ranges of anchors. The localization error is normalized with respect to either coordinates of a node or transmission range of nodes in the network.
