Abstract
Real world scenarios have been described using statistical distributions. Often these distributions extend the well-known distributions in efficiency and flexibility. This article introduces a new class of distribution called Zubair Gompertz (ZUG) distribution. The proposed model has a hazard shaped that is decreasing, unimodal, left skewed, and increasing. Some statistical properties of the proposed distribution were presented and investigated. The ZUG model is expressed as a linear function of the Gompertz densities. The maximum likelihood method was used to obtain the parameters of the proposed distribution. The performance of the ZUG model was illustrated by application to real-life data sets. The results show that the ZUG density provides a better goodness-of-fit in terms of their test statistic and would serve as a better alternative model in statistical literature.
