Zethu Matebeni

ZETHU MATEBENI is a senior researcher, human rights activist and documentary film-maker at the Institute for Humanities in Africa (HUMA), University of Cape Town. She is the curator of the collection Reclaiming Afrikan: Queer perspectives on sexual and gender identities and co-director of Breaking Out of the Box: stories of black lesbians in South Africa (both 2014). Zethu writes and researches on lesbian, transgender and queer issues, LGBT health, African film, and has published in various academic journals, books, newspapers and blogs. Email: [email protected]
