Abstract

It is obvious that current recreational facilities cannot satisfy the increasing demand. Constructing new recreational facilities on the right locations hence becomes an important issue. There are several criteria might be considered when determining the proper location for recreational facilities. In this research, we consider three different objectives at the same time, which might be conflicting with each other. A mathematical model was constructed first, and multiple objective decision making (MODM) technique and location theory were then used to generate a non-dominated solution, which includes the number and location of new recreational facilities. Real data from four counties of middle Taiwan was collected and used as the base for estimating some parameters necessary for implementing the mathematical model, and the results is also reported.
