Abstract

Taguchi developed an effective means of upgrading product's quality in 1960s, having been widely implemented in industry for product/process improvement. Most of Taguchi's applications focus on optimizing a single-response in a state system. The increasing complexity of product design, accounts for why more than one quality characteristic must be simultaneously considered to enhance the product quality. Hence, simultaneously optimizing multi-responses in a dynamic system has become an important issue. Based on the Grey Relational Grade analysis and Taguchi method, this study presents a novel procedure to optimize the multi-response problems in a dynamic system. Finally. effectiveness of the proposed procedure is demonstrated by a biological reduction of an ethyl acetoacetate process experiment.
