Abstract
Recent economic restructuring and spatial transformation in China have provided great opportunities for research. This paper reviews the recent progress in the study of large Chinese cities. It discusses four important issues: urban policy, migration, urban economy, and spatial structure. It also provides a research agenda for further investigations.
