A symmetric generalization of Sturm–Liouville problems in discrete spaces

Abstract

Classical Sturm–Liouville problems of a discrete variable are extended for symmetric functions such that the corresponding solutions preserve the orthogonality property. Some generic illustrative examples are given in this sense.
