Abstract
Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out on a new nonlinear optical l-lysinium trichloroacetate single crystal. The crystals were obtained from the combination of aqueous solutions of trichloroacetic acid and l-lysine by slow evaporation. A vibrational spectrum of the crystal was determined using FTIR analysis. Differential scanning calorimetry was used to determine the thermal stability of the compound. UV – vis – NIR spectrum of the compound gives its optical transparency. Powder SHG efficiency of l-lysinium trichloroacetate was also studied using Kurtz-Perry powder SHG measurement.
