Abstract
Two new phthalides, chuanxiongdiolides A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the roots of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. Their structures were established by UV, IR, 1D (1H, 13C) and 2D (HSQC, 1H–1H COSY, HMBC, NOESY) NMR, and HR-ESI-MS methods, and their absolute configurations were assigned via circular dichroism exciton chirality. The two compounds showed different degrees of inhibitory effects against butyrylcholine esterase.
