Abstract
Three pairs of meroterpenoids (±) cochlearoids N–P (1–3) were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma cochlear. Their structures including absolute configurations were assigned by spectroscopic techniques. All the isolated compounds were tested for their inhibitory activities toward BRD4, human cancer cells, and micro-organisms. The results show that the enantiomers of (±)-1 are BRD4 inhibitors, (−)-1 and (+)-3 are cytotoxic against human cancer cells (K562) with IC50 values of 7.68 and 6.68 μM, respectively. Besides compounds (±)-2 and (±)-3 exhibit potent inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus with IC50 values in the range of 5.43–17.99 μM.
