Ron Huisken is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Strategic & Defence Studies Centre, ANU. He spent nearly 20 years in government with the departments of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Defence, and Prime Minister & Cabinet and also worked with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the University of Malaya, and the United Nations secretariat in New York. He holds degrees in economics from the University of Western Australia and the Royal Stockholm University, and a PhD in international relations from the ANU.
