Abstract
A three-dimensional TEHD model for pivoted pad thrust hearings was developed and this model was used for the optimum-surface profile-design. The effects considered in this study include the rotational speed, the oil feed temperature, and the surface profile of the pad on hearing performance. Optimization of the surface profile of the pad was discussed.
