ABSTRACT
This article aims to study the influence of two contact methods that may be used in bearing tilt analysis. This is of interest because an essential output in bearing analysis is the contact stress. The rating life of a bearing is a function of this parameter and bearing customers are usually interested in this criteria. The linear contact has long been studied using a simple Hertzian model. Time and errors are obviously opponent parameters: The Hertzian method is a fast solution but it cannot reach the accuracy of a detailed one that takes more time. In this article, a non-Hertzian method is presented in order to manage this analysis and the results are compared to those of the standard.
