Christiane Fröhlich

Christiane Fröhlich is a postdoc researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg. Her work currently focuses on environmental migration in the Middle East as well as the intersection between migration and conflict more generally, with a focus on gender. In the past, she has worked extensively on water conflicts on the international, national, and local levels as well as on the Israeli–Palestinian core conflict and its role for Middle Eastern geopolitics. Giovanna Gioli

Giovanna Gioli is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Geography, University of Hamburg. Her research revolves around the nexus between mobility, the environment, and development, with a focus on gender; drawing on political ecology, participatory research, and community-based adaptation approaches, her work addresses also the role of perceptions in shaping responses to risk and adaptive strategies.
