May 2024 An interview with Samuel Munderere and David Russell of Survivors Fund (SURF) conducted by Noam Schimmel for Peace Review. Survivors Fund (SURF) is the principal international non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Established in 1997, it is a UK registered charity with its head office in Kigali, Rwanda. Samuel Munderere
Samuel Munderere is Chief Executive of Survivors Fund (SURF), with whom he has worked since 2004. Samuel holds a MSc in Global Mental Health from Kings College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a MSc in International Development Management from the University of Westminster (London, UK) and a BA in Social Worker and Social Administration from Bugema University. He lives in Kigali.
David Russell
David Russell is UK Coordinator of Survivors Fund (SURF), with whom he has worked since 2004. David has an MPA from New York University, and an MA from Cambridge University. He is an NYU Reynolds Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship and a Clore Social Fellow. He lives in London. Email: [email protected]
